A little update...

Theodore is now 3 weeks old! I used to roll my eyes when people spoke about how time flies by when they are little but oh my goodness, I feel like I've blinked and weeks have gone by!
I can already see the differences in him and how much he has grown in these weeks and he makes me so proud every single day.

He's now surpassed his birth weight, at his first little weigh in at home with the midwife, he had lost 3oz which, when you consider his birth weight, isn't much at all. However, at his next visit and weigh in, he was still 9lb 3oz, having only gained 5g in the whole week. I was feeling slightly concerned and disheartened as he was breastfeeding a lot with no issues and I wondered if I wasn't producing enough for him. Alas, this was not the case and 7 days later he was weighed again and had gained 11oz in one week! Weighing in at a massive 9lb14oz! Our health visitor thinks it just took a little time for me to produce the amount of milk that he requires, he's such a greedy little one! Everyone comments on how well he took to breastfeeding, he latched on less than an hour after birth and hasn't looked back since and I can definitely see how it benefits him. We have had no health issues at all with Theodore so far *touch wood*. He was born with a heart murmur and had to have this scanned in hospital, this showed a small hole in his heart. This is, however, nothing to be concerned about, i had the same thing when I was born and it closed up by my 6 month check. Theodore has a repeat scan at 3 months old and the specialist is confident it will have closed up by then.

He's settled pretty well into his routine, he feeds every 2-3 hours during the day and tends to cluster feeds on and off between 7pm and 11pm. I usually bath him between 7-8pm, get him into a fresh sleep suit and take him up to bed! We just have a nightlight on and he will cluster feed and I watch Netflix or read a book! Once he is in a deep sleep, usually around 11pm, he will sleep until around 3am before waking for a feed and then sleeps again until 6/7am. I'm more than happy with this as I'm  not overly tired in the daytime!

Bath time is a favourites of Theodore's! He is very calm and content in the water, which is unusual for him as he is so active and wiggly any other time of day. Getting out of the bath is another story though, he hates the whole process of being dried and having oil and talc poured all over him, he definitely has a little temper!

These are a few pictures from Theodore's newborn shoot! I cannot wait to get them printed and put all over my house. I can't believe I made something so perfect! He's learning new things every day and physically he is very advanced. His neck is very strong and you can tell he wants to do more than he can! He even tries to roll over which sends me all emotional as I don't think he's going to be my tiny one for very long. He began to smile this week, if you sing or chat to him, he gives you the biggest smile but at the moment, he makes you work very hard for it so I havent been able to capture it :(

I am enjoying every day with this little boy, me and Tom didn't realise just how much we would love being a family and how much joy it would bring us. We can't wait to watch him learn and grow!
